New steps are taken in the fields of SMEs and Entrepreneurship

In the online meeting with the Costa Rican delegation, the existing institutional mechanisms of both sides, current policies and KOSGEB support programs were discussed.

Under the co-chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Dr. Çetin Ali Dönmez and Costa Rica Deputy Minister of Economy, Industry and Trade there has been high profile participation to the meeting. With the participation of Leonardo Chacón Rodriguez and The Turkish Ambassador in San Hose Fatma Pihava Ünlü and Costa Rica’s Ambassador in Ankara Gustavo Campos Fallas, on November 11, 2021, the meeting on cooperation opportunities in the fields of SMEs and Entrepreneurship were discussed via video conference method.

In the meeting, which was held with the high-level participation of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and KOSGEB officials, Costa Rica Ministry of Economy, Industry and Trade and Costa Rica embassy units, information was shared about institutional mechanisms, current policies and KOSGEB support programs.

At the meeting, which is an important step in interaction with Costa Rica, the Costa Rican delegation decided to establish the legal basis for cooperation in the field of SMEs, to take concrete steps by prioritizing cooperation areas, to identify areas where a joint call can be made, and to contribute to the economic recovery of SMEs in the post-COVID-19 period. Kosta Rican side expressed their satisfaction with the joint work on the establishment of such a cooperation. It was stated by the parties that the preparations will continue on the next steps to be taken in order to provide mutual convenience to SMEs.
