A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between KOSGEB and the Azerbaijan Small and Medium Enterprise Entrepreneurship Agency (KOBİA). President of KOSGEB Prof.Dr. Cevahir Uzkurt, Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Niyazi Seferov and KOBİA President Orhan Memmedov attended the signing ceremony. Ambassador of Azerbaijan Hazar Ibrahim and the Commercial Attaché of the Embassy of Azerbaijan Ferid Musayev were present at the ceremony. President of KOSGEB Prof.Dr. Uzkurt expressed their readiness to cooperate with our ally and friend country Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani Deputy Economy Minister Seferov proposed that SMEs of the two countries could establish the Organized Industrial Zone (OIZ) in Azerbaijan.

We should take active and clear steps for cooperation

Speaking before the signing ceremony held in the KOSGEB Headquarters KOSGEB President Prof.Dr. Uzkurt said that they accept Azerbaijan as an country which is an important friend of Turkey. President Prof.Dr. Uzkurt said that they wanted to work closely with Azerbaijan in accordance with the directives of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. President Prof.Dr. Uzkurt said that if the action plan is prepared immediately after the Memorandum, more concrete cooperation opportunities will arise. Also we are ready for all kinds of cooperation as KOSGEB.

KOSGEB's Experience

Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Economy Seferov, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev noted a high level of relations between. He said cooperation in the field of economics should also be improved. Deputy Minister Seferov pointed out the importance of KOSGEB's experience in this field.

KOBİA President Memmedov said that we can go further with experience of KOSGEB. Memmedov invited KOSGEB President Uzkurt to his country. Uzkurt said that we will come to your country with the Turkish SMEs as soon as possible. We will start a good fruitful cooperation

Support Program Presentation

Following the speeches, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Uzkurt and his counterpart Mammadov. Then, a presentation was made to the Azerbaijani delegation about the Enterprise Development Support Program implemented by KOSGEB.

Mutual Business Trips

According to the signed memorandum of understanding, information and experience exchange will be made between the two countries regarding policies, activities and programs to support SMEs. Expert exchange, training / information programs will be organized for SMEs. Mutual business trips will be organized to promote the commercial relations of SMEs and promote joint ventures. Turkey and Azerbaijan will be inform each other about the job opportunities related to SMEs in their regions.
