During the Trade Days, which aimed to increase trade relations between the two countries, nearly 300 enterprises had bilateral cooperation meetings.

Aproximately 300 enterprises attended

“17th Turkish-German Trade Days” organized by Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO), Turkish-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ankara and KOSGEB was held at BTSO Service Building. During the event, which lasted two days and was attended by nearly 300 enterprises, bilateral business meetings and company visits were held.

“17th Turkish-German Trade Days” were held with the participation of Vice President of KOSGEB Ahmet Akdağ, BTSO President İbrahim Burkay, German-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Thilo Pahl, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany Michael Reiffenstuel, Bursa Deputy Mustafa Esgin, Mayor of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Alinur Aktaş, Turkish-German Business Council (DEİK) President Steven Young and BTSO President of the Assembly Ali Uğur.

Contribution to the trade volume between the two countries

KOSGEB Vice President Ahmet Akdağ informed about the activities of KOSGEB concerning the long-term cooperation between the two countries. Akdağ said that the panel and B2B meetings organized under the 'Turkish-German Economy Day' event, which is considered as a concrete step of this cooperation, will contribute to the increase of the trade volume between the two countries.

200 members will be in Germany for cooperation

Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Ibrahim Burkay, who hosted the event said that the trade volume between the two countries in 2018 reached 36.5 billion dollars. He also said that in the last 5 years, more than 500 thousand members of the chamber visited 44 fairs in Germany through BTSO organizations and in the rest of 2019, approximately 200 members will be in Germany for commercial cooperation with the organizations to be held.

Turkey has the attractive investment terms for German companies

DEIK Turkish-German Business Council President Steven Young emphasized that the German companies provide employment to more than 120 thousand people in Turkey and the total investment amount is 10 billion euros. Young gave the information that large companies with German origin also operate in Turkey for many years.

3 million Turks are the bridge between two countries

Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany Michael Reiffenstuel expressed that the trade volume between the two countries can be increased through mutual communication, indicating that more than 3 million Turks living in Germany are the bridge between the two countries.

New job opportunities

German-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Thilo Pahl pointed out the global economy is going through a difficult process and he drew attention to the importance of creating new jobs opportunities when Turkey and Germany are acting together in this process and they have a very attractive investment environment for German companies in Turkey.

During the event, trade potentials of Turkey and Germany were demonstrated with the presentations of representatives of Turkish and German enterprises who are engaged in mutual business. Turkish and German enterprises held one-to-one meetings and enterprises operating in Bursa were visited.

The second event of the Turkish - German Trade Days will be held on 8-9 October in Adana in this year.
